Baroque Violin after Nicolo Amati, Cremona 1666

 

 

A new baroque violin after a grand pattern by the Cremonese master Nicolo Amati.
The old and rare tonewoods comprise of East European fine grained maple with a striking figure, matching ribs, a fine and even grained Alpine spruce front.
The varnish of a golden orange colour, lightly shaded and with a natural texture, rather then the 'billiard ball' gloss look some new instruments have.
The sound is bright with a quick response. Available to view in London
